Bartlesville Public Schools Foundation Board Announces Search for Next Executive Director

The Bartlesville Public Schools Foundation (BPSF) Board of Directors recently announced that the organization is launching an immediate search for its next executive director.  Blair Ellis, who has served as the Foundation’s full-time executive director for almost nine years, will be stepping away from her role effective January 30, 2026 to take on a role with ConocoPhillips in Bartlesville.

The BPS Foundation Board is accepting applications through January 9th, seeking an experienced, dynamic, and passionate leader who will build on the momentum achieved over the past decade. Interested candidates can find a detailed job description, application requirements, and submission instructions on the Foundation’s website.  The Board aims to fill the position promptly to ensure a smooth transition and continued success for the Foundation’s mission.

In a note to Foundation supporters, Ellis expressed appreciation for her service with the Foundation and referenced the bittersweet nature of the transition. “It has been an honor to lead the Foundation and work alongside you as we expanded programs and started new initiatives – all in an effort to give our students exceptional educational experiences. There is never a perfect time to leave and there is always more to do. But the Foundation is in an excellent financial and strategic position; and I’m confident we will utilize our momentum to grow under new leadership.” About her new role, Ellis states, “I’m excited for the opportunity to move into a corporate role that will allow me to continue my engagement with our schools and build relationships with additional community partners.”

During her tenure, Ellis supported the BPSF Board in growing the Foundation’s annual impact within the schools significantly and helping the District establish new programs like Bruins on the Run and Bruin Vision, and bringing the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to Washington County.  BPSF Board Chairman, Chris Batchelder, reflected on Ellis’ leadership: “it has been transformative for the Foundation and, by extension, for our schools. We are grateful for her passion and commitment to this role; and we’re excited that she will continue to be a vital part of our community in her new position.”
