Bartlesville Alumni Association brings young alumni back to participate in College Q&A Panel

The Bartlesville Alumni Association, a program of the Bartlesville Public Schools Foundation, invited several recent Bartlesville High School graduates back to campus last week to participate in a panel for current BHS seniors, answering questions about the transition to college.

Evan Mitchell and Sam Simmons, both BHS Class of 2021, returned to Bartlesville to join BHS Counselor, Marci Beckley on stage at the Fine Arts Center during the seniors’ advisory period to engage in a discussion on the transition to college.  The young alumni offered advice about how to make the most of the summer before college, how to hit the ground running with good study habits, and how to meet friends and get involved in collegiate activities.  BHS seniors had the opportunity to ask questions and learn from the experiences of these engaged college freshman.

The Alumni Association plans to host the event again next spring and add an event geared to high school juniors. The Alumni Association is growing quickly thanks to support from the Truity Education Foundation, key alumni families like the Batchelders, and grant support from the Bartlesville Community Foundation. Instrumental in the engagement opportunities is BPSF intern and BHS senior, Class of 2022, Mia Archambo.
