Bartlesville Public Schools Foundation joins BCF as affiliate

Two of Bartlesville’s largest philanthropic entities are joining forces to better provide for the education of youth in our schools. With a shared goal of serving the community, Bartlesville Public Schools Foundation (BPSF) will come under the Bartlesville Community Foundation (BCF) umbrella as an affiliate allowing them to reduce overhead and streamline their grant and award processes. Affiliates maintain their own board of directors and grant making programs, while the community foundation  provides asset management and operational support.

BPSF was established in 1985 to help the Bartlesville Public School system maximize the quality of education for its students. It provides grants for curricula and programs that accelerate and enrich the learning environment for all students. To date, the BPSF has funded over $2 million in creative projects outside the traditional state, local, and federal sources to provide the schools with continued state-of-the-art instruction and facilities. These funds include classroom grants, awarded twice a year, for new and innovative approaches to education that develop or supplement programs to stimulate thought and/or expand the existing curriculum. BPSF also honors former educators from Bartlesville Public Schools through its Educator Hall of Fame.

According to Justin Krebbs, BPSF Chairman, “the Bartlesville Public School Foundation has made a strategic decision to align itself with the Bartlesville Community Foundation.” As an affiliate of BCF, BPSF will continue to serve its mission with its own, independent leadership while receiving the support of BCF’s back office and investment expertise. “We expect our new relationship with BCF to increase the impact of each donation we receive, allowing us to better serve our mission of providing financial resources to our local schools”, stated Krebbs.  BCF will also aid the BPSF in its grant making process by bringing it online for easier access. Krebbs added, “We assure our donors that BPSF will maintain its integrity and continue to be governed by the principles upon which it was originally founded. BCF is a wonderful organization with a broad reach and we look forward to growing with them.”

“We are excited the Bartlesville Public School Foundation will be joining us an affiliate. With this partnership, we believe their outstanding work in helping our schools, students, and teachers will be able to expand even further,” states Shawn Crawford, BCF Executive Director. BCF is a non-profit organization focused on bringing philanthropists and non-profit missions together to benefit Bartlesville. By working with donors who recognize the importance of supporting community projects and initiatives, BCF invests in charitable programs that address local needs and strives to ensure that Bartlesville is a great place to live and work.
